Degree Presents: Walk On

Degree® and Giannis Antetokounmpo Award Five College Basketball Walk-Ons with a $25K NIL Deal For March Madness.

CHALLENGE

In a culture that glorifies and emphasizes sports achievement, there’s a stigma to being a walk-on student athlete.

Many athletes go into the role of being a walk-on thinking the hard part is making the team. But they are the unsung heroes that continue to show up day in and day out, giving their best with no promise of a scholarship, playing time or even recognition outside of their coaches and team.

INSIGHT

The March Madness tournament is the most exhilarating experience for any college athlete.

And while America spends March celebrating the standouts and stars, there is another group of players who go largely unrecognized — despite giving even more passion and effort.

IDEA

This March Madness, Degree® is teaming up with a key basketball icon to introduce the Walk On campaign.

Together, we are awarding four exceptional walk-ons the financial support and resources they need to keep on playing. We are recognizing athletes who are truly pushing through barriers to achieve the collegiate athletic experience of their dreams.

Each walk-on will receive a $25K grant to cover the costs and living expenses for one year of college, as well as a professional mentor to guide them as they navigate their college years and post-graduation success.
